Dragon*KHAAAAAAAAN: Day 4
Sep. 6th, 2010 03:20 pmIN WHICH I WRAP UP WHAT IS POSSIBLY THE GREATEST WEEKEND OF MY LIFE
So I got there very early today because there was a Star Wars panel I wanted to go to at 11:30, but apparently the Star Wars fans weren't out in the same numbers as the Trekkies because there was absolutely no line. So I went back up to the Walk of Fame to get some more autographs (even though most of the guests had packed up and left by this point). Oh! There were tons of firetrucks around the Hilton this morning because the motor of one of the elevators had caught fire (!!!) last night/early this morning and they had to cut into...something (I don't remember what) in order to put it out. And there was some reason why they were back this morning but I forgot what it was. But the entire hotel had a nice smoky smell.
I got an Imzadi picture signed by both Marina and JFrakes, and then I also got to take a photograph with each of them. THen I walked around the dealer room for a bit and bought three Star Wars action figures (because I can *never* have enough SW action figures). Then I went back for the Star Wars panel at 11 (there was still no one lining up!) and sat through that. It was all about music in Star Wars and it was...really boring actually.
So once that I was over I went back up to the Walk of Fame and got a picture of Chewbacca with Peter Mayhew's signature, but that was a little disappointing because he looked like he'd already check out of the convention, mentally. Then I went over to LeVar's table and got his autograph and a picture with him. And during the picture, I sat on the very edge of his table so I wouldn't look awkward trying to lean over, and after the picture he looked at me and says "Sarah, were you sitting on my face?" and then starts laughing (I wasn't; I definitely made sure I didn't sit on any of the pictures). Then I headed over to Jewel Staite's table and got her autograph and then went back down to the dealer room, bought a few little things (Someone was selling tribbles that vibrated and purred but I had a feeling that would get really old really fast so I regretfully restrained myself) and then came back home.
So my inner Star Wars nerd was a little disappointed by the weekend but my inner Trekkie is out of her mind right now with the fangirling. They are all absolutely hilarious, really sweet and seem to genuinely love their fans. Marina and John even said during their respective panels that D*C is the best large convention because it is all about the fans (and that the costumes here are the best). And even though I'm flat broke (I don't even want to think about how much money I spent) I had the best time of my life and can't wait until next year!
